Obverse description	Black intaglio print over red guilloche underprint. The bank title arches across the upper portion of the note, centred beneath a vignette of Mount Kinabalu; the promissory text is set in the body of the note with the Company coat of arms positioned at the lower centre.

Reverse description	Uniface dark grey print on plain paper ground, with a large central elliptical guilloche medallion containing the numeral '1', flanked left and right by two smaller circular lathe-work rosettes each bearing the word 'ONE', the whole composition enclosed within an ornate engine-turned border. A small printer's imprint appears at the lower centre margin.
