| Obverse description | The brass centre features the national emblem of the Federated States of Micronesia: a sprouting breadfruit plant emerging from a stylised ocean wave, with four five-pointed stars arranged around it representing the four island states. A ribbon scroll below the plant bears the national motto in three parts. The date 1979, marking the year of the nation's constitution, appears in the lower field of the centre. The copper-nickel outer ring carries the circular legend GOVERNMENT OF THE FEDERATED STATES OF MICRONESIA. |
