| Obverse description | The concave obverse features a highly detailed rendering of an astronaut's bootprint impressed into the lunar regolith, centrally positioned within the domed field. Arcing along the upper periphery are the inscriptions MERCURY, GEMINI, and APOLLO, each separated by stylized celestial body symbols representing the phases of America's space exploration programs. The legend LIBERTY curves along the lower rim, while IN GOD WE TRUST appears in three lines to the right of the bootprint. The date 2019 is inscribed to the lower left, accompanied by the Philadelphia Mint mark P, with the designer's initials GC and JFM also present in the field. |

| Reverse description | The convex reverse, engraved by Phebe Hemphill, presents a dramatic scene of the Apollo 11 lunar landing on the Moon's surface. At center stands a spacesuit-clad astronaut on the textured lunar terrain, flanked to the left by the planted American flag and to the right by the Eagle lunar module with its landing struts and footpad prominently rendered. The inscription UNITED STATES OF AMERICA arcs boldly along the upper border, with ONE DOLLAR inscribed in the upper field. The motto E PLURIBUS UNUM appears in a recessed panel along the lower rim, completing the composition. |
