Obverse description The obverse features a finely engraved three-quarter portrait of the Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, depicted in period dress with a long curled wig and holding a violin, rendered across the full field of this compact disc-shaped coin. A central circular aperture — functional as a CD spindle hole — interrupts the composition. The Fijian coat of arms appears in the upper centre, flanked by the inscription ANTONIO VIVALDI above and FIJI to the left of the arms. The denomination $1 DOLLAR is inscribed to the right of the arms, the dates 1678–1741 appear along the right margin, and the year 2018 is engraved in the lower exergue. Ornate Baroque-style scrollwork borders frame the design on all sides, complementing the musical theme of the issue.
