| Obverse description | The obverse displays the national coat of arms of Palau at centre, depicting Neptune seated with a trident alongside a mermaid, enclosed within an ornate shield surmounted by a traditional outrigger canoe. Eight five-pointed stars flank the arms in two arching rows, and two curved decorative lines appear in the lower field. The legend REPUBLIC OF PALAU arcs along the upper rim, while the inscription RAINBOW'S END appears within the lower portion of the shield. The denomination 1$ is struck below the arms in the lower field. |
