| Additional information |
Palau began issuing collector dollars under a licensing arrangement in the 1990s, with the island nation's name appearing on pieces designed, struck, and distributed almost entirely by outside mints and marketing firms — Palau itself having no mint facility. This 2010 issue commemorates Mother Teresa's concept of her "call within the call," the moment in 1946 she described as receiving a direct instruction from God to leave the Loreto convent and work among the poorest in Calcutta. That interior experience preceded the founding of the Missionaries of Charity by three years.
