The Ningpo Commercial Bank (寧波商業銀行) was one of the early Chinese-owned commercial banks, founded in Shanghai in 1908 — this note comes from its first full year of operation. The bank drew its founding capital and much of its initial clientele from the Ningbo merchant diaspora in Shanghai, a community with an outsized role in Chinese finance well before formal banking institutions existed.

The Trade & Statistical Printing Company was a Shanghai-based printer operating in the shadow of the more prominent security printers; its output is less documented than contemporaries like the American Bank Note Company or Waterlow, which makes precise attribution of printing variants within this series genuinely difficult.

P#A61A status suggests a provisional or tentative catalog placement — the series is sparsely represented in major collections.
