Obverse description Two confronted dragons supporting a central imperial shield vignette at upper centre, flanked by denomination roundels reading ONE DOLLAR. Ornate guilloche border frames the note throughout. Text body carries the promise to pay at the Canton office, dated 22nd January 1898, with the Acting Chief Manager's signature at lower right.
