| Reverse description | Printed entirely in green, the reverse is dominated by an elaborate central medallion carrying the Great Seal of Canada — a crowned enthroned figure of Queen Victoria surrounded by the Latin legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA BRITANNIARUM REGINA / IN CANADA SIGILLUM — enclosed within a finely engraved geometric guilloche border. Bold block letters ONE are set into large rosette panels on the left and right, and the inscriptions PAYABLE AT above and MONTREAL below the central seal complete the design. |
