Reverse description
The motif on the reverse recreates the one that appeared on the 1967 dollar designed by Canadian artist Alex Colville: a Canada goose in flight, seen from the side. The finely chiseled detail perfectly captures the characteristics of the bird, including the texture of its large feathers, as it flaps its wings over the country. The motif is enhanced by selective gold plating applied to the barnacle and the coin`s bead. Also engraved on the reverse are the face value `1 DOLLAR`, the word `CANADA` and the commemorative dates `1867-2017`.
