| Additional information |
Porbandar was a small Kathiawar state on the Gujarat coast, better known today as the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi in 1869. Its copper dokdo coinage circulated within a tightly bounded local economy, and the broad date range assigned to this type reflects genuine uncertainty rather than a long continuous issue — attribution of undated Kathiawar coppers remains notoriously difficult, with many pieces shuffled between states by later cataloguers.
