Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious legend arranged in horizontal bands, typical of Abbasid-influenced Islamic coinage. The inscription, executed in Kufic script, is contained within a single or double linear border, with a circular marginal legend running along the periphery of the flan. The overall composition follows the aniconic tradition of Islamic numismatics, with no figural imagery. The coin is struck on an irregular, somewhat clipped flan showing characteristic surface wear and patination consistent with billon coinage of the period.
