Obverse description Central field occupied by multiple lines of Kufic-influenced Arabic legend filling the flan, reading the Shahada (Islamic profession of faith): 'There is no god but God, Muhammad is the Messenger of God.' The inscription is boldly struck in raised relief against a plain field, arranged in horizontal registers across the coin's surface. The flan is irregular and slightly squared at the edges, characteristic of Danishmendid hammered copper coinage. Surfaces show natural patination with areas of earthen encrustation consistent with burial find conditions.
