Obverse description Central field bearing multiple lines of Kufic Arabic inscription arranged concentrically and horizontally, containing the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada). The central inscription is enclosed within a circular border with a further marginal legend in Kufic script running along the outer ring. The coin exhibits the characteristic hammered, irregular flan typical of Abbasid-style dirhams of the Tulunid period, with slightly ragged edges and moderate die alignment.
