Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Hassan II facing left, rendered in high relief with finely detailed facial features in a restrained, modernist portrait style. Arabic legends arc along the left and right margins of the field, reading the royal title and kingdom name. The engraver's signature appears in small characters below the truncation of the neck. The coin is bordered by a rope-twist inner circle and a beaded outer rim.

Reverse description Central display of the Royal Arms of the Kingdom of Morocco, depicting a shield charged with a green pentagram on a red field, supported by two rampant lions, surmounted by a royal crown, and set upon an open scroll bearing the Quranic inscription. The dual dates 1384 (Hijri) and 1965 (Gregorian) appear in the upper field, flanking the arms on either side. The denomination '1 dirham' is inscribed in Arabic below the arms, accompanied by the written-out Arabic numeral. Mint marks and privy marks appear to the left and right of the central device.
