Obverse description Central field bears multiple lines of Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a beaded border. An outer marginal legend in Arabic Kufic script encircles the entire design, running continuously around the periphery of the coin. The flan is irregular and slightly broader than typical, consistent with hammered Islamic silver dirham production of the mid-10th century. The fields show characteristic flat striking of the Samanid-influenced regional coinage tradition.
