Reverse description Irregular square hammered flan with three lines of bold Arabic Naskh script occupying the central field within a plain linear border, flanked by a beaded border along the lateral margins. The inscription reads 'Abu Muhammad / Abd al-Haqq / Amir al-Muminin' (Commander of the Faithful), identifying the issuing Marinid sultan Abd al-Haqq II. The lettering is deeply struck in high relief, with individual letter forms showing the stylistic conventions of fifteenth-century Maghrebi calligraphy. A row of pellets is visible along the lower border, a decorative feature common to late Marinid silver issues.
