Abd al-Malik al-Muzaffar ruled Valencia as a client of the powerful 'Amiri family remnants, navigating the fractured taifa politics of mid-11th century Iberia with considerable difficulty. His reign was cut short when the Taifa of Valencia fell under the domination of al-Muqtadir of Zaragoza around 1065, making the window for his independent silver coinage extremely narrow.
Vives 1077 is among the scarcer taifa dirham attributions from the Valencian series.
