| Reverse description | The reverse features a bold geometric design centred on a raised circular medallion inscribed with the denomination 'درهم / ٥٠ فلس' (One Dirham / 50 Fils). Radiating outward from this central circle are four broad decorative lobes or arms forming a stylised cross-like pattern, each separated by dot ornaments, creating a bold sculptural effect. The Arabic legend 'المملكة العراقية' (Kingdom of Iraq) is distributed across the four quadrants of the field. The Hijri year ١٣٧٢ and the Christian year 1953 are inscribed to the left and right respectively within the design, and the whole is enclosed by a fine toothed border. |
