| Obverse description | The Andorran coat of arms occupies the central field, rendered within a semi-open circular frame. The quartered shield displays the traditional heraldic emblems of the co-princes of Andorra, surmounted by the episcopal mitre and crozier and the count's coronet. The surrounding legend reads PRINCIPAT D'ANDORRA, with the motto VIRTVS VNITA FORTIOR inscribed along the lower arc of the frame. The denomination 1 D. and the date 2006 appear within the design. |

| Additional information |
Andorra's shift to its own decimal coinage in the 1980s was driven partly by the practical absurdity of the principality's monetary situation — French francs and Spanish pesetas both circulated legally, with no domestic currency of any kind until that point. The 2006 brass diners were struck well into the transitional period, before euro adoption rendered the series obsolete almost immediately after many issues appeared.
