Additional information

Santa Coloma's church is among the oldest in Andorra, its pre-Romanesque origins dating to at least the 9th century. Andorra began issuing its own coinage only in 1982, having relied on French and Spanish currencies in everyday circulation for centuries prior — a consequence of its unusual co-princeship structure, which left monetary policy perpetually deferred to its two neighboring sovereigns.
