Additional information

Andorra's coinage history is unusual: the co-principality issued no independent circulating coinage of its own for most of its modern existence, relying instead on French and Spanish currency. The diners series, of which this is part, was produced specifically for collectors rather than circulation — Andorra didn't adopt the euro as legal tender until 2011 under a formal monetary agreement with the EU, having used it de facto for years prior.

KM#302 belongs to a long-running annual collector series. The "Bishop" designation refers to one of Andorra's two co-princes: the Bishop of Urgell, a role that has carried co-sovereign authority over the territory since the 1278 Paréage treaty.
