| Obverse description | Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged in three horizontal lines, executed in Kufic script typical of medieval Islamic coinage. The legend is enclosed within a plain inner circle, surrounded by a raised beaded border. An outer marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the periphery of the flan, partially affected by the irregular hammered edge. The overall design follows the aniconic epigraphic tradition characteristic of Islamic dinars of the 5th century AH. |
