Obverse description Central field occupied by multiple horizontal lines of Arabic religious and titular legends in Kufic script, arranged in four to five registers. The inscriptions include the Shahada and references to the Abbasid caliph and Buyid ruler. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the inner border, itself enclosed by a beaded or dotted outer border. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, typical of hammered gold coinage of the period.
