| Obverse description | Frontal standing figure of Ban Stjepan II Kotromanić depicted in regal attire, flanked on either side by architectural elements or heraldic supporters rendered in a crude medieval style typical of Balkan hammered coinage. The figure holds attributes of rulership, with the abbreviated Latin legend BAN S-TEFA disposed to the left and right of the central effigy across the field. The die work is characteristic of 14th-century Bosnian minting practice, with bold if somewhat irregular relief and an uneven flan edge. |
