Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in horizontal bands within a plain inner circle. The legend contains the Islamic profession of faith (Shahada) and royal titulature. A concentric marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the inner border, with a further outer marginal band of text near the coin's irregular rim. The overall design follows the classical Abbasid-derived epigraphic dinar format, with no figural imagery, relying entirely on calligraphic content for both religious and dynastic proclamation.

Reverse description Central field bearing a multi-line Arabic inscription in several horizontal registers, attributing authority to the Seljuq sultan Barkiyaruq and his viceroy Sanjar at Balkh, along with Quranic verses and honorific titles. A continuous circular marginal legend in Arabic script encircles the central text panel within a plain linear border. The outer margin carries an additional epigraphic band running close to the flan's edge. The style is consistent with late 5th-century AH Seljuq gold coinage, struck on an irregular flan by the hammered method.
