Obverse description Central square field containing four lines of bold Naskhī Arabic script, conveying religious inscriptions and the ruler's titulature. The square is framed by a double linear border, beyond which an annular band carries additional Arabic legends in cursive script. The outer margin is bounded by a fine beaded border. Decorative foliate or interlace motifs fill the lateral segments between the central square and the circular legend band, characteristic of Nasrid coinage of the 13th century.
