The legend, rendered in bold relief, records the mint name (Tilmisan) and the regnal year, following the standard Ottoman provincial dinar format. Marginal text surrounds the central square, with portions lost to the uneven flan periphery. The flat, lightly striated field and bold script relief are consistent with hammered gold coinage produced at the Tlemcen mint under Ottoman suzerainty in the late sixteenth century. |
