Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic religious inscription arranged in horizontal registers, characteristic of Seljuq gold coinage. The shahada and additional pious formulae are rendered in angular Kufic script with foliated embellishments. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs along the inner border, containing the mint name and regnal titulature. The flan is irregular and slightly uneven, as typical of hammered medieval Islamic dinars. The overall design conforms to the Abbasid-derived epigraphic tradition adopted by the Great Seljuq sultans.
