Obverse description Full-length frontal effigy of King Kanishka I standing, shown in characteristic Kushan royal attire consisting of a long padded coat, baggy trousers, and boots, with a nimbus of flames radiating from his shoulders. The king holds a long spear or scepter in his left hand and makes an offering over a small altar at his feet with his right hand. A Bactrian legend encircles the field, identifying the king by his royal titles.
