Obverse description Hammered gold dinar of irregular flan with a central field bearing a multi-line Arabic Kufic-influenced legend in four lines reading the titles and name of the Nizari Ismaili ruler Jalal al-Din al-Hasan III, arranged horizontally within a plain inner circle. The central legend reads 'al-Sultan / al-Azam Jalal / al-Dunya wa'l-Din / al-Hasan ibn Muhammad.' A circular marginal legend runs within the outer border, carrying the Shahada and the mint and date formula recording the striking at Kursi al-Daylam in the year 608 AH. The flan shows characteristic irregular edges typical of medieval Islamic hammered coinage, with well-raised bold lettering throughout.
