Obverse description Bare-headed effigy of King Hussein bin Talal facing left, depicted in suit and tie, set within a raised inner circle. A curving Arabic legend occupies the upper field, reading the royal title and country name, while the denomination appears in both Arabic script and Latin lettering ('1 DINAR') to the right of the portrait. The English legend 'THE HASHEMITE KINGDOM OF JORDAN' runs along the lower periphery. The piece is struck on a lead trial flan with a broad, machined outer rim typical of pattern and trial strikings.
