Reverse description Central field divided into multiple horizontal registers of Arabic script in a combination of Kufic and cursive styles, conveying the name and titles of the Abbasid caliph and the issuing Atabeg, Husam al-Din Aydughdi. A prominent ornamental device, possibly a fleur-de-lis or finial motif, appears at the top of the central area, a decorative feature occasionally found on Atabeg issues of this period. The marginal legend, running within a beaded or linear border, carries additional Quranic or honorific inscriptions. The date AH 553 (corresponding to AD 1158) is recorded in the field. The overall style follows Abbasid epigraphic dinar conventions adapted by the Khuzestan Atabegs.
