Obverse description Central field occupied by a multi-line Arabic legend arranged in four horizontal lines within a plain inner circle, reading the shahada and the name of the Abbasid caliph al-Nasir li-Din Allah. A circular marginal legend surrounds the central field, containing the mint and date formula. The entire design is executed in bold, angular Kufic-influenced script characteristic of Ghurid gold coinage. The flan is irregular and slightly convex, consistent with hammered gold production. No figural imagery appears; the composition is entirely epigraphic.
