| Obverse description | Hammered gold dinar of irregular flan with multiple lines of Arabic Kufic inscription arranged in a central rectangular field. The obverse bears the shahada and mint/date formula reading that the dinar was struck at Hamadan in the year 287 AH. A circular marginal legend surrounds the central field, containing the Quranic formula. The inscriptions are executed in angular Kufic script typical of Abbasid-era provincial coinage. |
