| Obverse description | Central square field enclosed within a dotted inner border and a plain outer frame, containing four lines of Arabic inscription in bold Maghrebi script. A circular marginal legend in Arabic script runs around the outer border of the flan, interrupted at the base by a further inscription. The overall design follows the classic Hafsid square-in-circle dinar format inherited from Almohad coinage tradition. |
