It was rebuilt by Dictator Julius Caesar and became the capital of Africa Proconsularis. The building earned the admiration of travelers, especially during the Middle Ages. Korbous lies on the Cap Bon peninsula and is set in a deep ravine that opens to the sea near the village of Sidi Rais.
