Obverse description The early Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia state coat of arms (version used 1943–1946) occupies the central field, depicting a torch with a flame rising from crossed wheat sheaves, all set within a shield-like composition. Nine five-pointed stars arc around the upper periphery of the arms, representing the constituent nations and peoples of the federation. The Cyrillic legend ЈУГОСЛАВИЈА curves along the upper rim, while the founding date 29-XI-1943 — commemorating the second session of AVNOJ — appears at the base. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
