Obverse description Crowned royal effigy of King Pietro II facing left, rendered in low relief in the crude hammered style typical of medieval Sicilian coinage. The bust is enclosed within a plain inner circle surrounded by an outer beaded border. The royal crown is depicted with stylized points above the head. The circumferential Latin legend runs between the two borders, partially legible due to the irregular flan.
