Reverse description The reverse displays the word IMPERIALIS arranged in three horizontal lines across the central field, reading IMP / ERIA / LIS in bold Gothic uncial characters, a format characteristic of the denaro imperiale type issued under Milanese lordship. Decorative trefoil or trilobate ornaments flank the text above and below, serving as separators and filling devices. A beaded inner circle frames the central inscription, while additional ornamental stops and letter groups appear in the surrounding field. The outer rim carries further lettering between beaded borders. The entire design reflects the epigraphic tradition of the denaro imperiale as it evolved under Visconti authority in the late 14th century.
