Reverse description A plain Latin cross occupying the central field, with one six-pointed star placed in each of the four quarters formed by the arms of the cross. The cross extends to the inner circle, and the whole device is enclosed within a beaded border. The design reflects the standard Sicilian denaro type of the mid-thirteenth century, combining Christian and Norman-Hohenstaufen iconographic elements.
