| Obverse description | A fleur-de-lis occupies the central field, rendered in the stylized Gothic manner typical of Angevin coinage, with three upright petals rising from a rounded base flanked by two lateral volutes. The heraldic device, emblem of the House of Anjou, is boldly struck in high relief against a flat field. The coin is enclosed by a beaded or rope-like border following the irregular flan.
