| Obverse description | Armored and draped bust of Philip II facing left, wearing elaborately detailed plate armor with a ruffled collar and ornamental gorget, the hair rendered in tight curls with a short beard. The effigy is contained within a beaded inner circle, with the circumferential legend reading clockwise in Latin. The portrait is executed in the refined Renaissance style characteristic of Netherlands piedfort coinage of the mid-sixteenth century. |

| Reverse description | Crowned quartered royal arms of the Habsburg-Spanish monarchy resting upon a Burgundian cross, flanked by fire steels of the Order of the Golden Fleece, with the jewel and collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece suspended below the shield. The central device is framed within a beaded inner circle, surrounded by an outer ring bearing the individually depicted coats of arms of the Seventeen Provinces of the Spanish Netherlands. The overall composition reflects the heraldic grandeur typical of prestigious piedfort presentation pieces struck for the Overijssel lordship under Philip II. |
