Gibraltar's early 1990s crown program was prolific to the point of cynicism — the territory issued commemoratives across dozens of sporting themes in the lead-up to the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, targeting the collector market almost exclusively. Few of these pieces entered circulation in any meaningful sense.
KM#70a is the silver proof variant; a cupro-nickel version was struck simultaneously for the broader market.
