| Obverse description | The effigy of Queen Elizabeth II is presented in right-facing profile within a raised inner circle, rendered in the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait style. The legend ELIZABETH II and ISLE OF MAN arcs around the upper portion of the circle, with the date 2009 positioned below. The field surrounding the central circle is richly decorated with incuse Egyptian hieroglyphic motifs covering the entire triangular surface.
