Reverse description The reverse depicts a circular cameo bust of Tsai Lun, the Chinese Han dynasty court official credited with the invention of natural fibre paper, shown wearing a traditional official's headdress, set within a beaded inner circle at right. To the left, a stylised blossoming tree rises above a stone tablet inscribed FIRST NATURAL FIBRE PAPER AD 105, accompanied by the subject's name in both Latin script and Chinese characters 蔡倫. A stack of sheets of paper occupies the lower right of the central field. The arc legend INVENTIONS OF THE MODERN WORLD curves around the upper periphery, and the denomination 1 CROWN appears at the base.
