Reverse description The central design depicts a three-quarter length figure of Michelangelo's David, rendered in sculptural relief to the left of centre, evoking the masterworks of the Italian Quattrocento. To the right stands a detailed representation of Brunelleschi's dome of the Florence Cathedral (Santa Maria del Fiore), while above it a bat-winged flying machine — inspired by Leonardo da Vinci's aeronautical studies — soars across the field, accompanied by the mintage notation 2/000. The curved legend THE RENAISSANCE · QUATTROCENTO arcs along the upper periphery, and 1 CROWN is inscribed along the lower border, all within a toothed rim.
