The inscription THE FUNERAL OF LORD NELSON appears within the scene. Below the central vignette, a facsimile of Nelson's signature and the date 1805 are engraved, with the denomination ONE CROWN beneath. The curved legend THE BICENTENARY OF TRAFALGAR arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by decorative floral ornaments forming a wreath-like border around the central design.
