| Additional information |
Tristan da Cunha, a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic with a permanent population under 300, has no meaningful domestic coin circulation — its issues exist entirely for the collector market. The Black Prince series, released around the 750th anniversary of Edward of Woodstock's birth, trades on the name's romantic appeal rather than any particular numismatic significance.
Gold-plated cupro-nickel crowns of this type were struck in quantity by outside contractors, almost certainly the Pobjoy Mint, which has handled the majority of Tristan da Cunha's collector output since the 1980s.
