Additional information

Gibraltar's output of commemorative crowns in this period was prolific to the point of saturation — the territory issued dozens of collector pieces annually, largely targeting the British commemorative market rather than domestic circulation. The 2012 Diamond Jubilee alone generated multiple distinct issues from Gibraltar, each keyed to a different ceremonial event.

The Thames Pageant on 3 June 2012 drew roughly a million spectators along the riverbanks despite persistent rain, and saw over 1,000 vessels — the largest flotilla assembled on the Thames since 1662.
